There are three sailing areas in our program: Sydney, Pittwater and the Whitsundays.

A long time ago everything around here looked like a deserted lake: hundreds of bays and caves between rugged promontories. But today highly developed marinas with sophisticated infrastructure determine the landscape.

The area is one of the most sailed in the world – Sydney Harbour. Only thirty minutes to the north you can find equally spectacular waters: Pittwater and the Hawkesbury Waterway that borders on the unique Ku-Ring-Gai Chase national park. We have several starting bases in the area so that you can freely choose your favorite waters.

The Whitsundays

The Cumberland Islands were discovered by Lieutenant James Cook during his first voyage in 1770. As he discovered the passage between the northern islands on a Whitsunday he gave it its peculiar name. The Islands are of volcanic origin and can be sailed as secure waters.

At the center of the island group lies the island of Hamilton. There are nice passages that are located between the several islands and which are protected by the Great Barrier Reef. A tide of about twelve feet and its specific current make these waters a specialty for more demanding sailors.

Between April and October south-eastern winds of about 10 to 25 knots are blowing. July is the coldest month with about 11 degrees Celsius.

The best time for sailing is without a doubt the period between May and December.
The australian summer, between November and April, comes with northern winds.
January and February are the hottest months with up to 28 degrees Celsius.
