Yachtcharter Turkey Sailing along the Turkish coast

The Bay of Fethiye and 1 week westwards

You want relaxation, swimming and sailing in a good wind?
Here a tip from our partner BareBoatSailing, stay in the bay of Fethiye and Göcek.

Especially if you are sailing with children or novices you will learn to appreciate this safe and secluded sailing paradise.

Standing up in all without distress, swim, having a long breakfast and wait for the winds that come up around noon. You can sail wherever the wind blows you in this protected bay opposite the open sea. Explore the countless bays and stop wherever you feel like it. Since You are that close to Fethiye provisioning and supplies are never an issue.

Try sailing with the wind and not to follow a predetermined route. Roam the sailing area. You even can do this for longer trips, excursions to Ölu Deniz or Marmaris are easily doable from Fethiye.

Itinerary –  Bay of Fethiye and westwards

Day 1

Depart Fethiye, roam in the bay, go for a swim at noon near Göcek, sail in the afternoon and stay overnight in one of many small bays.

Day 2

Cast off from the bay of Fethiye towards Marmaris. Shortly past the plains of Dalaman you can find many beautiful bays in the "Köycegiz Limani" for example the "Ekincik bay" in the northeastern part (N36°49.7 E28°33.1). In the northernmost part you can swing at anchor, in the bays use the line to fasten on the land. In the Ekincik bay you can join excursions to the Dalyan Delta. A variation you shouldn't miss.

Day 3

You leave the Ekincik in southern or southwestern direction and sail towards Marmaris. Before arriving there the bays of "Kumlu Bükü" (N36°45.0 E28°16.5 ) or "Turunc Koyu" (N36°46.4 E28°15.05) are great stops for a relaxed swimming break.

In Marmaris the Netsel Marina is a great choice since it it so closely located to the city center.

Day 4

Have fun around Marmaris. Enjoy sailing, exploring and swimming during the day just as it pleases you.

For the night move to the area "Ciftlik Koyu" (N36°43.0 E28°14.5) and especially "Ince Adasi" (also "Kriek Ince"; N36°42.3 E28°13.7). Ocassionally strong Gusts, but a well protected bay in an lovely environment. Also fantastic for going on shore.

Day 5

You return towards Fethiye. With this longer stage you should start early on. Usually you will have less wind, however you are spared the stronger waves coming from the sides in the afternoon. These occur on the last Nautic miles ahead of Fethiye when winds are changing from east to south or west.

Feel free to select one of the many well protected small bays for another carefree night in the bay of Fethiye.

Day 6

Enjoy the last day of your trip. Extensive swimming and sailing between Göcek and Fethiye. After docking in the Ece Saray Marina in Fethiye at 5 pm and the check-out you have plenty of time for shopping at the bazaar and a last dinner at the fish market or in one of the restaurant.

If you prefer spending the last night close to your yacht do not go further than the restaurant "Carpe Diem" in the marina and relax during these last hours.

Note:

Please note that this is a suggested itinerary and not all yachts have the necessary licences / insurance to call at all destinations / islands.

Please clarify this with the charter company before planning your trip. You will receive the necessary papers for your route planning from the lessor before the start of the charter, so these must be requested from the hirer / skipper in good time. The terms and conditions of the lessor / yacht owner and, if applicable, their restrictions apply.
